Altar Server
Boys and girls from grade 3 and above who assist the priest at the liturgy.
Women's Groups / Altar Societies
All of our parishes have active women's groups. All women are welcome! Gatherings are on occasion and announced in the bulletin when scheduled. In addition to serving lunches and dinners for parish events, funerals and weddings, the women of the respective parishes assist in raising funds for various parish and charitable concerns.
Baptism Preparation
Preparing parents for the formation of their child’s faith. Contact the Pastor in advance to schedule a Baptism Prep. class and a date for Baptism.
Decorating/Environment
Volunteers with a good aesthetic sense who help in decorating and beautifying the Church according the specific seasons of the Church year.
Eucharistic Minister
Extraordinary Ministers of Communion who serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound. EMHC's serve as an extension of the Priest's ministry of distributing the Body and Blood of Christ and so can only serve at the Pastor's request and with the Bishop's approval.
Flowers and Grounds
Volunteers who care for and beautify the grounds and church.
Gift-bearers
Families or persons who volunteer to be representatives of the community in presenting the congregation's gifts of bread/wine and offertory to God within the offertory procession at Mass.
Knights of Columbus
All men are welcome! Meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month at St George Church beginning with Rosary at 7:30 pm. The Knights serve as honor guard at special Masses, and conduct many service activities for the good of our parishes and our civic community. Funds raised through events such as periodic Bingo, fish fries etc. are dedicated to charitable needs of church or charities. Lunch served during Cooper Days with proceeds dedicated toward an individual or family with extra medical needs.
Lector
Reader who proclaims the Scriptures at Mass and other services.
Liturgical Linen Service
Responsible for the preparation and care of the altar linens. This includes the washing and ironing of purificators, corporals, and altar linens.
Music Ministry
We are blessed with volunteers who help accompany and lead our congregation in song in our parishes. We welcome others to come forward and help enhance our Liturgies with their musical gifts. If you have musical talent and the desire to help, please contact Fr. Bachmeier and we will find ways of incorporating your gifts in the worship of our communities.
Offertory Counters
A group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week.
Parish Finance/Pastoral Council
Advises the Pastor on financial and significant matters of the parish. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual Financial Statements sent to the Diocese and to the State of North Dakota. Helps direct the vision and mission of the parish on other agenda items as needed.
Sacristan
Volunteers who are the priest's primary contact point for care of liturgical vestments, candlesticks, altar linens and other sacred articles use in worship and the Sacraments. They assist the priest in making sure that all the items used in the sanctuary are clean, orderly and read for use in all liturgical services.
Usher
Volunteers who take up the offertory collection at Mass. They also assist people to their seats if necessary, especially when the Church is full.
